Acupuncture is based on an old Asian philosophy that describes the universe and the body in terms of yin and yang, which are two opposing forces. The body is healthy when the two forces are in balance. Qi is an energy that flows along the meridians or pathways in the body and keeps the two forces in balance.

Therefore, if the energy flow or the Qi gets blocked, the body will be unbalanced and this can lead to dysfunction, pain, or sickness. Acupuncture can release the energy blockages and return the body to a balanced and healthy state. Acupuncturists insert very thin needles at specific points along the meridian lines increasing circulation and metabolism in the body, which promotes the body’s natural self- healing process.

As well as traditional acupuncture, Stefan Chang is trained in five elements acupuncture, warm acupuncture, and cupping.
